Last month we went to see Jay's brother Jared and sister-inlaw Jillian and their kids. Yosemite was reasonable close so we took our chance. Jay and I am been so excited to finally visit this park, although I was very upset when I realized that hiking half dome was more like a sumit than a day hike and that it would have to be a dream that was realized at another year in our lives. I was seriously bummed! We did do a lovely hike that was challenging and made me glad that we wern't on the 8.5 mile grueling trial that day.
Emerald Pool up at the top was a breath taking sight just at the top of the 317 foot Vernal Falls. The NPS has to take all the fun out of it and post NO SWIMMING signs by an abviously tranquil pool at the top. I am sure most of you know those signs or the fact that we didn't bring suits didn't deter us from at least wading in this gorgeous pool after such a hot hike. It is beyond me why I didn't take a picture of the pool.
Mandi! John and I hiked Half Dome a few years ago- it beat me up pretty bad. I was out of shape. NOT how you want to be when hiking that. But it was awesome. Definitely keep it on the list and make it happen. I'll have to show you pictures sometime.
